Sitting/stillness: practicing quieting the mind, focus, and stillness. Why? How to start getting in touch with what is inside.
Ex. For five minutes, play something soothing or sit in stillness. On the floor, in a chair, or wherever it makes sense. Concentrate on three aspects: legs, arms, and breathing. Notice how many times your mind wonders when it has three things on the list. What if there was only one? A way to start understanding how easily our mind is distracted and working with it in small doses to quiet it. Stillness helps us to improve our ability to focus. Focus allows us to notice more details which translates to a more refined conversation between ourself and a partner--whether it is a horse, human, or the world at large.
