TEACHING

"To teach is to learn twice. This philosophy summarizes my interactions with my students: as I impart theories and techniques to them, I too, learn from their reactions & results. The USDF Certification process has influenced my style of teaching both dressage theory and practice. While most of my students are currently dressage riders, I have always worked with riders from diverse disciplines of riding, but have used the classical techniques as a basic framework for approaching all riding. My work with juniors has been particularly rewarding for me because of their direct approach to learning and the ease with which they apply the methods of classical dressage."

TRAINING

"A desire to refine my communication with the horse has long motivated my work to improve my riding. I seek to develop an unobtrusive seat, while applying the aids with timing and tact.
The horse, in turn, develops balance, suppleness, and self carriage through three ways of education: lungeing, work in hand and riding. I interchange all of this to monitor the development of the horse from the ground and to smooth out balance and suppleness as the horse learns to carry greater weight behind. Finally, but most importantly, I keep the horse’s mental integrity foremost in all of my training. "
